Lowther Castle gardens and the garden designer Dan Pearson
2018 was a busy summer photographing gardens throughout the UK. Three of these gardens were designed by Dan Pearson and luckily one, Lowther Castle, was round the corner from home. I spent some gorgeous evenings enjoying the gardens in peace and also being able to clamber on to various roofs to get good vantage points.
Prince Charles 70th birthday
Country Life magazine invited Prince Charles to be guest editor for the issue published on his birthday. In which, there was an article on the splendid gardens at his Scottish estate at Dumfries House in Ayrshire. I had the privelege of being the photographer chosen by the magazine.
Road works ahead ...
The Highways Agency selected my image of Brougham Castle for a giant display board on the A66/A6 roundabout at Penrith and also at Appleby to mark the completion of a large works between the two towns. As I passed through the Penrith junction most days, I got a bit of a buzz seeing my work so large in public.
University of Cumbria
On Wednesday 19th July I was made an Honorary Fellow of the University of Cumbria in recognition of my career in photography. I look forward to spending time with photography students.
